Camptown Core

CORE1.0The great outdoors has the power to give perspective, clear the mind, inspire, and change lives.  Many of us have had these types of valuable experiences with nature and, in all likelihood, most of us had that experience sometime during our youth.

Camptown was formed as the need became obvious that many of our youth are not able to access the outdoors. We began partnering with schools, youth groups, community centers, churches, and other youth-serving organizations to provide them with this option when their students would likely not be able to afford it on their own. In 1991, Camptown served just 60 students. Camptown now serves more than 3,000 under-privileged young Hoosiers every year through outdoor adventure and nature programs that change lives.

The Camptown Core is your opportunity to join a group of like-minded individuals who want to ensure that programs like Camptown’s continue.  It takes a strong organization to power these life changing programs.  On average, it costs $150 to introduce a young person to the outdoors through an overnight camping trip.  That cost rises to $500 per student on one of our week-long backpacking trips.  With your annual commitment to give $10, $20, $50, $100, or $200 per month you will be making trips like this possible for children that would not otherwise get the opportunity.  You can set up a recurring gift by credit card or ACH at the link below. Rest assured, your donation will be securely processed through First American Payment Systems.

“I know Camptown through my wife’s work at Zionsville High School.  She often partnered with Camptown to provide students with learning experiences in outdoor settings.  I was fortunate to be able to join one of the outings and saw first-hand the way these experiences helped students grow in self confidence, resourcefulness, and teamwork.  I’m very grateful for opportunities Camptown provides for our community’s youth.”
